What services are offered by TeamUP! Tutors?

TeamUP! Tutors, Inc., matches K-12 students with qualified tutors. Sessions take place in student homes. All elementary, middle school and high school subjects, as well as SAT, ACT and other tests, are covered.

Where do tutoring sessions take place?

One-on-one tutoring takes place in your home at a time convenient to your family.

Who attends the sessions?

TeamUP! Tutors requires that a parent or guardian be present while the student and tutor work together.

What are our tutors’ qualifications?

Tutors are credentialed teachers and degreed professionals with proven backgrounds in education and tutoring. TeamUP! Tutors works with instructors who are committed to their craft and who continuously demonstrate integrity, diligence, compassion and professionalism. All tutors are required to meet commitments and consistently receive positive feedback from students and parents.

Will the same tutor come to every session?

The answer is yes, with a few exceptions. Whenever TeamUP! Tutors makes a match, our goal is for the tutor and student to work together on an ongoing basis. In some cases this is not possible due to scheduling, subject matter, career, or geographic changes. When this occurs, TeamUP! Tutors immediately provides a new tutor. This tutor is provided with all of the information necessary to pick-up where his or her predecessor left off.

Do you guarantee tutoring quality?

We choose our tutors extremely carefully, so you can anticipate successful sessions. In the event the tutor is not a good academic or personal match, we will provide you with a different tutor along with a free hour of tutoring.

Program

How does the service work?

When you call TeamUP! Tutors, we will clarify your objectives, prepare an individualized Student Success Plan, and match a qualified tutor to your needs. You will then be contacted directly by your tutor to schedule a mutually convenient time for the initial session. Our tutors work one-on-one with students to ensure they reach their full academic potential. We closely monitor progress and modify the Student Success Plan as needed.

Is a set curriculum followed?

Each tutor is responsible for helping the student meet goals set forth in the Student Success Plan. Your student should make sure to have his or her school textbooks and assignments ready. Tutors may also suggest supplemental materials, such as workbooks or flash cards. Depending on the student’s needs, tutoring could focus on anything from homework and study skills to clarifying missed concepts and test preparation.

How does the tutor know what to work on?

A copy of your Student Success Plan will be given to your tutor, so that he or she is well aware of struggles and goals. The tutor communicates with the student and parents at each session. Tutors are also available to speak with teachers or other specialists via phone and email. We will follow up with you and your tutor to assess progress and to modify the Student Success Plan as goals and needs change over time.

How can I get the best results from tutoring?

Results will depend on your level of commitment. Time and again, our highest achieving students are the ones who stick to the Student Success Plan and make tutoring a top priority. When tutoring wins over hectic schedules, students make progress. It’s no coincidence that clients who adhere to our program are also the most satisfied with their results.

How does TeamUP! Tutors differ from center-based tutoring?

In general, tutoring-centers are more expensive than our private, one-on-one service due to their assessment costs and monthly fees. Most centers offer small group tutoring and self-paced computer learning instead of our one-to-one model. We encourage parents to choose the provider best suited to the needs of their child. The key to a student’s success is finding a solution that best matches his or her learning style.

Fees

Do you charge any enrollment, testing, or recurring fees?

TeamUP! Tutors never charges an enrollment or testing fee. There are no monthly fees or hidden costs. We only charge for scheduled sessions and offer a generous cancellation policy.

How much do the sessions cost?

Costs vary by region and what plan you select. Please ask when you call. All sessions dates and durations are fully detailed and sent to you via an online statement.

How long are the tutoring sessions?

Tutoring sessions typically run 1 1/2 – 2 hours. The minimum session length is one hour.
